Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Electronic Equipment, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 unchanged 0.00%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vinci SA (PA:SGEF), which rose 2.34% or 1.41 points to trade at 61.63 at the close. Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) added 1.58% or 1.31 points to end at 84.35 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 1.52% or 0.05 points to 3.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN), which lost 4.79% or 1.93 points to trade at 38.25 in late trade. Technip (PA:TECF) declined 4.49% or 1.83 points to end at 38.95 and Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) shed 4.24% or 2.08 points to 47.09.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which rose 11.98% to 25.985, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 5.91% to settle at 25.720 and DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which gained 4.53% to close at 49.905.
The worst performers were CGG (PA:GEPH) which was down 10.11% to 0.80 in late trade, Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) which lost 4.79% to settle at 38.25 and Maurel Et Prom (PA:MAUP) which was down 4.60% to 2.49 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 300 to 287 and 192 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.49% to 27.58.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.93% or 10.20 to $1106.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 4.77% or 1.53 to hit $30.66 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.55% or 1.17 to trade at $31.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.0824, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.7598.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 99.50.
