Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the CAC Basic Materials, CAC Financials and CAC Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 2.66% to hit a new 3-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 2.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 0.03% or 0.01 points to trade at 35.71 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) fell 0.53% or 0.70 points to end at 131.90 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was down 1.36% or 1.98 points to 143.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 6.70% or 10.80 points to trade at 150.30 in late trade. AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) declined 4.91% or 1.52 points to end at 29.43 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) down 4.68% or 4.58 points to 93.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 14.58% to 0.88, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 10.60% to settle at 2.05 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which gained 0.55% to close at 36.40.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 13.88% to 1.51 in late trade, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which lost 12.58% to settle at 9.07 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 9.86% to 96.90 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 507 to 56 and 50 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) fell to 3-year lows; losing 0.53% or 0.70 to 131.90. Shares in Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) fell to 5-year lows; losing 13.88% or 0.24 to 1.51.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.18% or 27.35 to $2,345.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $78.60 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $82.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 105.19.
