Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the CAC Consumer Goods, CAC Technology and CAC Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.01%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 0.47% or 0.28 points to trade at 59.94 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) added 0.32% or 0.70 points to end at 217.60 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 0.20% or 0.08 points to 40.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 4.71% or 2.66 points to trade at 53.76 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 2.41% or 9.00 points to end at 363.70 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) down 2.35% or 5.60 points to 232.45.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 7.68% to 4.15, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was up 5.25% to settle at 8.38 and Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) which gained 3.14% to close at 8.88.
The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was down 6.14% to 198.90 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which lost 4.71% to settle at 53.76 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 4.26% to 5.12 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 318 to 186 and 89 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.32% or 0.70 to 217.60. Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.41% or 9.00 to 363.70. Shares in Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 7.68% or 0.30 to 4.15. Shares in Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) fell to all time lows; down 4.26% or 0.23 to 5.12.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.95 to $2,735.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.86% or 1.28 to hit $69.97 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.53% or 1.12 to trade at $74.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 103.75.
