Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the CAC Technology, CAC Consumer Service and CAC Health Care sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.64% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 1.82% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.86 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 1.66% or 1.60 points to end at 97.74 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was up 1.39% or 4.85 points to 354.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 3.97% or 3.98 points to trade at 96.22 in late trade. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) declined 2.74% or 7.40 points to end at 262.60 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) down 2.71% or 0.62 points to 22.11.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (EPA:SESFd) which rose 3.39% to 5.65, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 2.44% to settle at 0.00 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) which gained 1.82% to close at 2.86.
The worst performers were Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which was down 9.72% to 19.68 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 8.76% to settle at 7.19 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 8.50% to 11.13 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 296 to 180 and 89 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.97% or 3.98 to 96.22.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.50% or 44.11 to $2,990.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.37% or 0.93 to hit $66.75 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 0.90 to trade at $70.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 103.74.
