Defence stock jumps after receiving order for gun stand assemblies from defence firm
Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the CAC Consumer Goods, CAC Oil & Gas and CAC Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.58%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 1.65% or 4.20 points to trade at 259.50 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) added 0.84% or 2.20 points to end at 262.60 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.71% or 0.10 points to 13.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which fell 3.84% or 0.37 points to trade at 9.17 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.79% or 1.05 points to end at 26.66 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) down 2.81% or 1.39 points to 48.15.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 3.84% to 2.81, Elis Services SA (EPA:ELIS) which was up 2.42% to settle at 23.74 and Coface (EPA:COFA) which gained 2.04% to close at 16.49.
The worst performers were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was down 6.05% to 4.88 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which lost 5.67% to settle at 3.25 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.69% to 9.85 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 302 to 182 and 95 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.71% or 0.10 to 13.43. Shares in Elis Services SA (EPA:ELIS) rose to all time highs; rising 2.42% or 0.56 to 23.74.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.61% or 20.10 to $3,293.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.25% or 0.77 to hit $60.80 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 0.88 to trade at $64.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 99.78.
