Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the CAC Industrials, CAC Oil & Gas and CAC Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.27%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 6.26% or 0.15 points to trade at 2.60 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) added 2.82% or 20.70 points to end at 754.80 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 2.34% or 1.13 points to 49.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which fell 9.48% or 25.65 points to trade at 245.00 in late trade. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) declined 7.03% or 7.22 points to end at 95.48 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) down 1.64% or 2.75 points to 164.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which rose 6.45% to 6.12, Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) which was up 6.26% to settle at 2.60 and Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which gained 4.64% to close at 316.00.
The worst performers were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) which was down 9.48% to 245.00 in late trade, Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) which lost 7.03% to settle at 95.48 and Wendel (EPA:MWDP) which was down 5.44% to 92.95 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 257 to 246 and 86 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.47% or 41.36 to $2,765.24 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.93% or 2.19 to hit $72.47 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.54% or 1.97 to trade at $75.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 107.21.
