Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the CAC Oil & Gas, CAC Consumer Goods and CAC Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 2.25% or 0.78 points to trade at 35.42 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) added 1.40% or 1.75 points to end at 126.55 and AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) was up 0.97% or 0.34 points to 35.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which fell 2.95% or 1.12 points to trade at 36.83 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 2.35% or 8.85 points to end at 367.70 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) down 1.23% or 0.94 points to 75.58.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which rose 3.18% to 7.14, Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which was up 3.07% to settle at 124.10 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which gained 2.25% to close at 35.42.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 9.36% to 12.01 in late trade, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which lost 4.59% to settle at 8.20 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 4.12% to 19.06 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 287 to 204 and 88 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.35% or 8.85 to 367.70. Shares in AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.97% or 0.34 to 35.30. Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) fell to 5-year lows; down 9.36% or 1.24 to 12.01. Shares in Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.59% or 0.39 to 8.20.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.55 to $2,543.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.08% or 1.37 to hit $67.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 1.14 to trade at $70.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 101.67.
