Defence stock jumps after receiving order for gun stand assemblies from defence firm
Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the CAC Industrials, CAC Basic Materials and CAC Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 2.33%, while the SBF 120 index gained 2.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which rose 5.68% or 11.60 points to trade at 215.80 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 5.31% or 7.82 points to end at 154.96 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 4.48% or 1.16 points to 27.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 7.28% or 7.02 points to trade at 89.44 in late trade. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 1.39% or 0.38 points to end at 27.00 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) down 0.86% or 0.11 points to 12.68.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 12.20% to 4.00, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was up 8.49% to settle at 12.25 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 7.29% to close at 11.12.
The worst performers were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 7.28% to 89.44 in late trade, Television Francaise 1 SA (EPA:TFFP) which lost 4.35% to settle at 8.04 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 2.49% to 4.54 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 344 to 166 and 64 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.44% or 14.09 to $3,236.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.60% or 0.95 to hit $58.29 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.82 to trade at $61.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 99.65.
