Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the CAC Consumer Goods, CAC Technology and CAC Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.37% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which rose 7.01% or 34.75 points to trade at 530.50 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 6.81% or 1.45 points to end at 22.66 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 6.53% or 0.57 points to 9.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which fell 3.23% or 2.40 points to trade at 71.96 in late trade. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 2.96% or 7.30 points to end at 239.00 and AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) down 2.35% or 0.98 points to 40.69.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which rose 10.81% to 12.19, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was up 8.10% to settle at 8.08 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which gained 7.88% to close at 4.08.
The worst performers were Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was down 4.70% to 299.80 in late trade, SES (EPA:SESFd) which lost 3.50% to settle at 4.69 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) which was down 3.23% to 71.96 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 283 to 200 and 87 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.11% or 104.09 to $3,239.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.11% or 1.29 to hit $62.31 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.00% or 1.28 to trade at $65.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.23% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.41% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.31% at 101.48.
