Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the CAC Industrials, CAC Health Care and CAC Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.22%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 3.93% or 5.34 points to trade at 141.30 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) added 3.67% or 8.75 points to end at 247.45 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 2.84% or 2.80 points to 101.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 0.76% or 0.76 points to trade at 98.84 in late trade. Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) declined 0.71% or 0.12 points to end at 16.02 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) down 0.59% or 0.20 points to 33.42.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which rose 17.68% to 208.00, Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which was up 8.32% to settle at 27.35 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 4.67% to close at 13.67.
The worst performers were Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was down 6.50% to 7.45 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 5.95% to settle at 5.32 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 5.38% to 1.57 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 261 to 209 and 112 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) rose to all time highs; up 3.67% or 8.75 to 247.45. Shares in Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.50% or 0.52 to 7.45.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.55% or 14.75 to $2,706.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $70.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $74.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.38% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 103.61.
