Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the CAC Consumer Goods, CAC Industrials and CAC Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.86% to hit a new 6-month high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 3.09% or 1.49 points to trade at 49.66 at the close. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) added 2.99% or 2.98 points to end at 102.70 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was up 2.64% or 6.95 points to 269.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 2.41% or 0.32 points to trade at 13.15 in late trade. Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) declined 2.22% or 0.06 points to end at 2.46 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) down 2.04% or 0.47 points to 22.52.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which rose 3.09% to 49.66, Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) which was up 2.99% to settle at 102.70 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) which gained 2.64% to close at 269.80.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 4.55% to 0.00 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 4.38% to settle at 5.61 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 4.32% to 2.04 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 266 to 227 and 90 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.38% or 10.36 to $2,769.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $75.90 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.08 to trade at $79.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 108.01.
