Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the CAC Basic Materials, CAC Consumer Service and CAC Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.79%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.37% or 0.75 points to trade at 22.98 at the close. Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) added 2.88% or 2.90 points to end at 103.65 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was up 2.52% or 1.66 points to 67.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 0.90% or 0.54 points to trade at 59.73 in late trade. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) declined 0.64% or 1.40 points to end at 218.10 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) down 0.54% or 0.06 points to 10.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 10.94% to 2.12, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which was up 5.98% to settle at 150.70 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 5.70% to close at 5.73.
The worst performers were Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which was down 3.75% to 21.80 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which lost 2.54% to settle at 13.41 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 2.09% to 53.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 261 to 228 and 92 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in Danone SA (EPA:DANO) rose to 3-year highs; gaining 2.52% or 1.66 to 67.44. Shares in Mersen (EPA:CBLP) fell to 3-year lows; falling 3.75% or 0.85 to 21.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.75 to $2,753.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 5.64% or 4.05 to hit $67.73 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.57% or 4.21 to trade at $71.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 104.14.
