Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the CAC Technology, CAC Financials and CAC Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.66%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 8.86% or 3.31 points to trade at 40.67 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 4.24% or 2.73 points to end at 67.05 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.63% or 2.34 points to 91.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which fell 1.70% or 1.78 points to trade at 102.68 in late trade. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 1.67% or 1.80 points to end at 106.15 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) down 1.65% or 1.10 points to 65.42.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which rose 8.86% to 40.67, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was up 7.85% to settle at 9.84 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which gained 4.70% to close at 2.36.
The worst performers were Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was down 2.45% to 51.85 in late trade, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which lost 2.23% to settle at 214.70 and Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was down 1.84% to 42.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 272 to 217 and 93 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.45% or 1.30 to 51.85.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.43% or 12.30 to $2,869.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.33% or 0.24 to hit $72.92 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.40 to trade at $76.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.91% at 107.89.
