Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the CAC Technology, CAC Oil & Gas and CAC Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.64%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 3.34% or 0.69 points to trade at 21.21 at the close. Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) added 3.32% or 4.80 points to end at 149.35 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 2.17% or 1.01 points to 47.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 2.84% or 7.20 points to trade at 246.30 in late trade. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 0.80% or 2.00 points to end at 248.20 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) down 0.74% or 1.80 points to 242.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which rose 5.61% to 7.98, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 4.87% to settle at 40.90 and Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which gained 4.39% to close at 55.18.
The worst performers were Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was down 3.44% to 314.60 in late trade, Thales (EPA:TCFP) which lost 2.84% to settle at 246.30 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which was down 2.16% to 29.96 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 280 to 174 and 101 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.35% or 44.51 to $3,350.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.19% or 0.71 to hit $60.62 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.73 to trade at $63.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 100.11.
