Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the CAC Health Care, CAC Consumer Service and CAC Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.59% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 1.93% or 0.49 points to trade at 25.82 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) added 1.56% or 9.90 points to end at 644.50 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was up 1.55% or 1.00 points to 65.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which fell 2.69% or 0.84 points to trade at 30.41 in late trade. Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) declined 1.61% or 0.04 points to end at 2.57 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) down 1.29% or 1.10 points to 84.14.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which rose 3.37% to 5.22, Elis Services SA (EPA:ELIS) which was up 3.35% to settle at 19.13 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which gained 2.94% to close at 3.09.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 8.49% to 5.81 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which unchanged 8.33% to settle at 0.00 and Sodexo SA (EPA:EXHO) which was down 7.83% to 73.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 243 to 237 and 102 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.74% or 19.51 to $2,666.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.87% or 0.64 to hit $74.20 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.67 to trade at $76.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 108.26.
