Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the CAC Industrials, CAC Health Care and CAC Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.39%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 3.69% or 3.80 points to trade at 106.80 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) added 2.14% or 4.40 points to end at 210.30 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was up 2.07% or 4.70 points to 231.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 2.71% or 2.44 points to trade at 87.64 in late trade. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 1.60% or 0.87 points to end at 53.48 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) down 1.59% or 0.15 points to 9.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) which rose 3.69% to 106.80, Bureau Veritas SA (EPA:BVI) which was up 2.83% to settle at 30.52 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which gained 2.28% to close at 29.20.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 22.73% to 0.00 in late trade, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which lost 3.67% to settle at 1.87 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 3.64% to 12.71 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 249 to 245 and 92 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.60% or 0.87 to 53.48. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 22.73% or 0.00 to 0.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.43% or 38.99 to $2,757.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.01% or 1.38 to hit $69.97 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.58% or 1.14 to trade at $73.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 106.21.
