Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the CAC Consumer Goods, CAC Technology and CAC Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.39%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 3.50% or 8.05 points to trade at 238.05 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) added 2.26% or 13.80 points to end at 623.20 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 1.93% or 0.23 points to 12.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which fell 1.23% or 1.74 points to trade at 139.56 in late trade. Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) declined 0.97% or 0.10 points to end at 10.18 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) down 0.59% or 0.10 points to 15.93.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which rose 6.84% to 7.96, Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was up 5.61% to settle at 81.00 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which gained 4.31% to close at 2.66.
The worst performers were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was down 12.64% to 345.50 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which lost 2.74% to settle at 13.29 and Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was down 2.25% to 13.02 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 274 to 214 and 94 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.91% or 24.55 to $2,732.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.85% or 1.31 to hit $69.36 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.76% or 1.31 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 103.39.
