Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the CAC Financials, CAC Industrials and CAC Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.31% to hit a new 3-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 2.52% or 0.73 points to trade at 29.47 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 2.29% or 0.52 points to end at 23.24 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 2.26% or 0.28 points to 12.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which fell 1.74% or 0.28 points to trade at 15.80 in late trade. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 1.23% or 0.60 points to end at 48.17 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) down 1.01% or 7.00 points to 683.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 3.53% to 2.23, SEB SA (EPA:SEBF) which was up 3.51% to settle at 90.05 and Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which gained 2.96% to close at 12.17.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 4.19% to 2.10 in late trade, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which lost 2.78% to settle at 7.91 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 2.47% to 11.45 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 276 to 222 and 94 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.52% or 0.73 to 29.47.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.87% or 23.99 to $2,724.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.99% or 0.77 to hit $76.62 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.77% or 0.62 to trade at $80.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.03% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.96% at 108.15.
