Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the CAC Financials, CAC Health Care and CAC Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.28% to hit a new 6-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 3.64% or 1.29 points to trade at 36.55 at the close. Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) added 2.17% or 0.06 points to end at 2.96 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was up 1.98% or 0.43 points to 22.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 1.91% or 0.52 points to trade at 26.68 in late trade. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 1.67% or 0.86 points to end at 50.70 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) down 1.65% or 1.64 points to 97.78.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which rose 17.70% to 10.24, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 9.52% to settle at 0.00 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which gained 9.47% to close at 3.70.
The worst performers were Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which was down 3.67% to 133.80 in late trade, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which lost 3.67% to settle at 55.05 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was down 3.09% to 28.24 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 259 to 246 and 77 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) rose to 3-year highs; gaining 3.64% or 1.29 to 36.55. Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.65% or 1.64 to 97.78.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.22% or 6.50 to $2,927.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.31% or 0.95 to hit $73.27 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 1.07 to trade at $76.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 107.92.
