Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the CAC Financials, CAC Technology and CAC Consumer Service sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.17% to hit a new 6-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 7.01% or 17.35 points to trade at 264.75 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 3.21% or 1.02 points to end at 32.84 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.60% or 2.50 points to 98.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which fell 2.21% or 5.40 points to trade at 238.75 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 2.17% or 7.40 points to end at 333.95 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) down 2.08% or 0.57 points to 26.78.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which unchanged 8.70% to 0.00, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was up 7.01% to settle at 264.75 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which gained 4.81% to close at 3.88.
The worst performers were SEB SA (EPA:SEBF) which was down 5.52% to 88.20 in late trade, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which lost 2.65% to settle at 20.54 and Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was down 2.38% to 119.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 256 to 247 and 81 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.04% or 1.29 to $2,931.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.22% or 1.63 to hit $71.69 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.95% or 1.50 to trade at $75.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 107.75.
