Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Helsinki Basic Materials, Helsinki Oil & Gas and Helsinki Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.47% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB), which rose 11.23% or 2.02 points to trade at 20.01 at the close. Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA) added 0.78% or 0.50 points to end at 64.40 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) was up 0.74% or 0.33 points to 44.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which fell 4.39% or 1.25 points to trade at 27.20 in late trade. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) declined 3.69% or 0.34 points to end at 8.82 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) down 3.23% or 1.68 points to 50.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 109 to 62 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
Shares in Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 11.23% or 2.02 to 20.01. Shares in UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.39% or 1.25 to 27.20.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 1.99% or 1.41 to $72.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.08% or 1.40 to hit $68.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 16.95 to trade at $2,798.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.53% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 103.89.
