Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Helsinki Oil & Gas, Helsinki Technology and Helsinki Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.26% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA), which rose 1.57% or 0.30 points to trade at 19.35 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 1.50% or 0.06 points to end at 4.28 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) was up 1.22% or 0.11 points to 9.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE), which fell 4.62% or 0.56 points to trade at 11.68 in late trade. Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM) declined 3.71% or 2.55 points to end at 66.20 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) down 3.14% or 0.31 points to 9.44.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 99 to 65 and 24 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
Shares in Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.62% or 0.56 to 11.68.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.11% or 0.81 to $74.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.74% or 0.52 to hit $70.60 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% or 10.51 to trade at $2,651.49 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 106.88.
