Finland shares lower at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 down 0.07%
Credit: © Reuters. – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities , Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.07% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj (HE: KESKOB ), which rose 2.15% or 1.10 points to trade at 52.26 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE: NESTE ) added 1.74% or 1.20 points to end at 70.30 and Outotec Oyj (HE: OTE1V ) was up 1.69% or 0.056 points to 3.372 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Elisa Oyj (HE: ELISA ), which lost 3.18% or 1.14 points to trade at 34.70 in late trade. Valmt (HE: VALMT ) declined 2.51% or 0.49 points to end at 19.06 and Fortum Oyj (HE: FORTUM ) shed 2.38% or 0.45 points to 18.28.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 68 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.28% or 0.17 to $60.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.45% or 0.23 to hit $51.79 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.55% or 6.70 to trade at $1226.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1346, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8861.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 96.887.
