Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Helsinki Basic Materials, OMX Helsinki Consumer Services PI and Helsinki Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.48% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 7.95% or 0.35 points to trade at 4.78 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) added 3.90% or 1.05 points to end at 27.97 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 3.33% or 0.34 points to 10.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which fell 4.19% or 0.19 points to trade at 4.32 in late trade. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) declined 1.64% or 0.70 points to end at 41.86 and Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB) down 0.42% or 0.08 points to 17.89.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 110 to 58 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.33% or 0.26 to $78.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.68% or 0.51 to hit $74.11 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.47% or 12.89 to trade at $2,777.89 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.96% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 107.08.
