Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.54% – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate , Consumption and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.54% to hit a new 3-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA: EMBR3 ), which rose 7.00% or 1.06 points to trade at 16.21 at the close. Fibria Celulose SA (SA: FIBR3 ) added 6.99% or 2.30 points to end at 35.20 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB5 ) was up 6.24% or 0.88 points to 14.98 in late trade.

Biggest losers included JBS SA (SA: JBSS3 ), which lost 31.34% or 2.73 points to trade at 5.98 in late trade. RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA: RAIL3 ) declined 10.94% or 0.97 points to end at 7.90 and Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA: CYRE3 ) shed 6.23% or 0.71 points to 10.69.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 301 to 111 and 34 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.23% to 43.89.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.50% or 6.31 to $1259.91 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.75% or 0.38 to hit $51.05 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.14% or 1.50 to trade at $130.52 .

USD/BRL was up 0.59% to 3.2733, while EUR/BRL rose 0.88% to 3.6795.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 96.86.
