Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.51%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials , Consumption and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.51%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Fibria Celulose SA (SA: FIBR3 ), which rose 3.64% or 1.33 points to trade at 37.85 at the close. Bradespar SA (SA: BRAP4 ) added 3.09% or 0.58 points to end at 19.38 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA: CSNA3 ) was up 3.01% or 0.21 points to 7.18 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Cielo SA (SA: CIEL3 ), which lost 2.44% or 0.58 points to trade at 23.20 in late trade. Lojas Renner SA (SA: LREN3 ) declined 2.17% or 0.59 points to end at 26.55 and Tim Participacoes SA (SA: TIMP3 ) shed 1.90% or 0.19 points to 9.81.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 218 to 174 and 28 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.45% to 40.60.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1266.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.38% or 0.19 to hit $49.99 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 1.35% or 1.75 to trade at $131.22 .

USD/BRL was up 0.10% to 3.2637, while EUR/BRL rose 0.01% to 3.6457.

The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 97.33.
