Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 2.33%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials , Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 2.33% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA: EMBR3 ), which rose 0.60% or 0.12 points to trade at 20.05 at the close. Fibria Celulose SA (SA: FIBR3 ) added 0.25% or 0.19 points to end at 77.70 and Klabin Unt (SA: KLBN11 ) was up 0.23% or 0.05 points to 21.50 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ), which lost 6.80% or 1.08 points to trade at 14.81 in late trade. Smiles Fidelidade SA (SA: SMLS3 ) declined 6.26% or 2.93 points to end at 43.87 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA: USIM5 ) shed 5.97% or 0.47 points to 7.40.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 298 to 121 and 35 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.32% to 53.04 a new 52-week high.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.80 to $1202.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.77% or 1.87 to hit $69.41 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.08% or 1.10 to trade at $100.30 .

USD/BRL was up 1.58% to 4.1491, while EUR/BRL rose 1.61% to 4.8119.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 95.10.
