Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.22%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials , Real Estate and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.22%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA: CSAN3 ), which rose 5.19% or 1.87 points to trade at 37.92 at the close. Tim Participacoes SA (SA: TIMP3 ) added 2.82% or 0.34 points to end at 12.39 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA: KROT3 ) was up 1.57% or 0.27 points to 17.50 in late trade.

Biggest losers included EcoRodovias SA (SA: ECOR3 ), which lost 3.22% or 0.40 points to trade at 12.03 in late trade. Qualicorp SA (SA: QUAL3 ) declined 3.18% or 0.93 points to end at 28.30 and CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA: CMIG4 ) shed 3.11% or 0.21 points to 6.54.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 229 to 172 and 26 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 6.64% to 28.13 a new 1-month low.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.23% or 15.30 to $1257.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.82% or 0.47 to hit $56.67 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.01% or 1.20 to trade at $120.08 .

USD/BRL was up 0.13% to 3.3112, while EUR/BRL rose 0.75% to 3.9135.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 93.46.
