Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.03%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials , Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.03% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA: BRAP4 ), which rose 3.57% or 1.04 points to trade at 30.17 at the close. Embraer SA (SA: EMBR3 ) added 2.21% or 0.42 points to end at 19.42 and Vale SA (SA: VALE3 ) was up 2.17% or 1.08 points to 50.80 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA: MRFG3 ), which lost 9.30% or 0.64 points to trade at 6.24 in late trade. B2W Cia Digital (SA: BTOW3 ) declined 3.63% or 1.03 points to end at 27.36 and Banco do Brasil SA (SA: BBAS3 ) shed 3.52% or 1.14 points to 31.26.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 257 to 173 and 32 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 6.49% to 37.07.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.63% or 7.50 to $1191.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.67% or 0.44 to hit $65.90 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.66% or 0.67 to trade at $101.25 .

USD/BRL was up 0.28% to 3.9152, while EUR/BRL rose 0.82% to 4.4777.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 95.99.
