Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.61%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption , Industrials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.61%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB3 ), which rose 4.23% or 1.83 points to trade at 45.14 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (SA: RADL3 ) added 2.85% or 1.94 points to end at 69.89 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ) was up 2.19% or 0.31 points to 14.44 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA: CSNA3 ), which lost 5.02% or 0.40 points to trade at 7.57 in late trade. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA: USIM5 ) declined 4.44% or 0.35 points to end at 7.53 and Embraer SA (SA: EMBR3 ) shed 4.34% or 0.98 points to 21.58.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 208 to 207 and 36 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.34% to 32.70.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.05% or 13.20 to $1242.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.66% or 3.45 to hit $70.66 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 2.18% or 2.50 to trade at $112.03 .

USD/BRL was up 1.61% to 3.8769, while EUR/BRL rose 1.01% to 4.5267.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 94.48.
