Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.06%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate , Consumption and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.06%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA: CSNA3 ), which rose 4.51% or 0.31 points to trade at 7.18 at the close. JBS SA (SA: JBSS3 ) added 3.65% or 0.23 points to end at 6.53 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ) was up 2.81% or 0.34 points to 12.45 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Fibria Celulose SA (SA: FIBR3 ), which lost 1.49% or 0.51 points to trade at 33.81 in late trade. EcoRodovias SA (SA: ECOR3 ) declined 0.38% or 0.04 points to end at 10.35 and Cielo SA (SA: CIEL3 ) shed 0.28% or 0.07 points to 24.60.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 273 to 108 and 33 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.14% to 30.62.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 3.42 to $1242.38 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.96% or 1.33 to hit $46.26 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.26% or 0.33 to trade at $126.00 .

USD/BRL was up 0.12% to 3.3072, while EUR/BRL fell 0.07% to 3.7775.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.40.
