Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.35%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials , Public Utilities and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.35%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA: RAIL3 ), which rose 3.74% or 0.32 points to trade at 8.87 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB5 ) added 3.09% or 0.41 points to end at 13.67 and Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA: SBSP3 ) was up 2.79% or 0.91 points to 33.50 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Bradespar SA (SA: BRAP4 ), which lost 3.15% or 0.69 points to trade at 21.20 in late trade. Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA: GOAU4 ) declined 2.63% or 0.13 points to end at 4.82 and Embraer SA (SA: EMBR3 ) shed 2.19% or 0.38 points to 17.01.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 205 to 197 and 24 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.49% to 30.60.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.28% or 3.55 to $1254.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.69% or 0.35 to hit $50.25 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.83% or 1.15 to trade at $137.62 .

USD/BRL was down 0.28% to 3.1134, while EUR/BRL fell 0.11% to 3.3224.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 100.34.
