Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 2.22%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Financials and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 2.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA: NATU3 ), which rose 6.35% or 1.68 points to trade at 28.13 at the close. Kroton Educacional SA (SA: KROT3 ) added 6.16% or 0.60 points to end at 10.34 and B2W Cia Digital (SA: BTOW3 ) was up 5.76% or 1.51 points to 27.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BB Seguridade Participacoes SA (SA: BBSE3 ), which lost 0.79% or 0.20 points to trade at 25.17 in late trade. Ambev SA (SA: ABEV3 ) declined 0.42% or 0.08 points to end at 18.90 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA: MRFG3 ) gained 0.31% or 0.02 points to 6.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 268 to 138 and 40 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.88% to 40.08.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.80 to $1202.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.10% or 2.04 to hit $67.88 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.83% or 0.85 to trade at $101.03 .
USD/BRL was up 0.18% to 4.0558, while EUR/BRL rose 0.40% to 4.7014.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.98.
