Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 2.12% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Azzas 2154 SA (BVMF:AZZA3), which rose 22.03% or 6.94 points to trade at 38.44 at the close. Banco Bradesco SA Pref (BVMF:BBDC4) added 15.64% or 2.04 points to end at 15.08 and Banco Bradesco SA (BVMF:BBDC3) was up 14.04% or 1.65 points to 13.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3), which fell 7.69% or 0.43 points to trade at 5.16 in late trade. Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:UGPA3) declined 3.69% or 0.62 points to end at 16.20 and Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) down 2.88% or 0.58 points to 19.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 589 to 340 and 60 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.92% to 29.60.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 2.28% or 77.41 to $3,314.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.67% or 2.13 to hit $60.20 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.73% or 2.80 to trade at $386.90 .
USD/BRL was down 1.39% to 5.67, while EUR/BRL fell 2.04% to 6.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.05% at 100.48.
