Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.71%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate , Financials and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.71% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA: GOLL4 ), which rose 6.42% or 0.70 points to trade at 11.60 at the close. Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (SA: PETR4 ) added 6.29% or 1.27 points to end at 21.46 and Cvc Brasil ON (SA: CVCB3 ) was up 5.30% or 2.17 points to 43.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bradespar SA (SA: BRAP4 ), which lost 3.17% or 1.20 points to trade at 36.70 in late trade. Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA: CSAN3 ) declined 1.70% or 0.56 points to end at 32.42 and Ambev SA (SA: ABEV3 ) shed 1.18% or 0.22 points to 18.48.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 240 to 212 and 40 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.97% to 48.59.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.99% or 11.90 to $1187.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.77% or 0.55 to hit $72.12 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.43% or 1.40 to trade at $99.25 .
USD/BRL was down 0.78% to 3.9996, while EUR/BRL fell 1.67% to 4.6570.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.76% at 94.59.
