Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.71%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA: CSNA3 ), which rose 14.93% or 1.16 points to trade at 8.93 at the close. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET6 ) added 8.87% or 1.54 points to end at 18.90 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (SA: PETR4 ) was up 8.17% or 1.32 points to 17.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tim Participacoes SA (SA: TIMP3 ), which lost 2.37% or 0.33 points to trade at 13.60 in late trade. Cielo SA (SA: CIEL3 ) declined 2.08% or 0.36 points to end at 16.93 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA: KROT3 ) shed 1.86% or 0.21 points to 11.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 320 to 147 and 24 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.70% to 29.15.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.28% or 3.70 to $1295.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.44% or 0.95 to hit $64.86 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.09% or 1.34 to trade at $121.38 .
USD/BRL was down 0.62% to 3.7404, while EUR/BRL fell 0.32% to 4.3743.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 94.03.
