Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.25%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials , Public Utilities and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ), which rose 8.41% or 1.31 points to trade at 16.88 at the close. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET6 ) added 8.08% or 1.47 points to end at 19.66 and Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA: GOLL4 ) was up 6.25% or 0.66 points to 11.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB3 ), which lost 2.46% or 1.23 points to trade at 48.78 in late trade. Kroton Educacional SA (SA: KROT3 ) declined 1.48% or 0.16 points to end at 10.65 and Klabin Unt (SA: KLBN11 ) shed 1.19% or 0.26 points to 21.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 270 to 160 and 41 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.33% to 45.98.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1213.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.71% or 1.17 to hit $69.70 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.38% or 0.39 to trade at $102.78 .
USD/BRL was down 0.40% to 4.1193, while EUR/BRL fell 0.30% to 4.8223.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 94.46.
