Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumption and Bovespa Industrial Sector sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.97% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3), which rose 6.90% or 0.34 points to trade at 5.27 at the close. IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3) added 5.64% or 1.70 points to end at 31.82 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3) was up 4.79% or 0.56 points to 12.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Natura & Co SA (BVMF:NTCO3), which fell 8.61% or 1.41 points to trade at 14.97 in late trade. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) declined 4.35% or 0.46 points to end at 10.11 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) down 3.38% or 0.05 points to 1.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 536 to 399 and 55 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
Shares in YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.35% or 0.46 to 10.11. Shares in Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.38% or 0.05 to 1.43.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.84% to 29.65.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 2.10 to $2,506.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.91% or 1.53 to hit $78.53 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 3.48% or 8.37 to trade at $232.48 .
USD/BRL was down 0.79% to 5.45, while EUR/BRL fell 0.31% to 5.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 102.40.
