Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.71%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumption , Electric Power and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were B2W Cia Digital (SA: BTOW3 ), which rose 6.87% or 1.63 points to trade at 25.35 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA: ESTC3 ) added 5.23% or 1.25 points to end at 25.15 and Banco do Brasil SA (SA: BBAS3 ) was up 4.74% or 1.35 points to 29.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA: GOLL4 ), which lost 3.02% or 0.42 points to trade at 13.49 in late trade. Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA: CYRE3 ) declined 2.58% or 0.31 points to end at 11.69 and JBS SA (SA: JBSS3 ) shed 2.30% or 0.21 points to 8.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 301 to 128 and 29 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 8.14% to 30.92.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.18% or 2.30 to $1301.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.47% or 1.65 to hit $68.38 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.25% or 0.30 to trade at $120.42 .
USD/BRL was up 0.02% to 3.7280, while EUR/BRL rose 1.15% to 4.3487.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 94.06.
