Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.65%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate , Consumption and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA: USIM5 ), which rose 6.97% or 0.61 points to trade at 9.36 at the close. Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA: SBSP3 ) added 6.29% or 1.83 points to end at 30.92 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA: CSNA3 ) was up 5.19% or 0.45 points to 9.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie Brasil Energia SA (SA: EGIE3 ), which lost 21.50% or 9.40 points to trade at 34.32 in late trade. BB Seguridade Participacoes SA (SA: BBSE3 ) declined 4.57% or 1.30 points to end at 27.16 and Via Varejo SA (SA: VVAR3 ) shed 3.43% or 0.17 points to 4.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 244 to 176 and 37 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.03% to 33.80.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.29% or 3.60 to $1250.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.01% or 0.52 to hit $51.13 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.78% or 0.80 to trade at $103.15 .
USD/BRL was down 1.25% to 3.8548, while EUR/BRL fell 0.78% to 4.3845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 96.993.
