Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.61%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials , Public Utilities and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.61%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA: JBSS3 ), which rose 4.20% or 0.41 points to trade at 10.18 at the close. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET6 ) added 4.49% or 1.21 points to end at 28.15 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ) was up 4.10% or 0.98 points to 24.88 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB3 ), which lost 4.45% or 1.03 points to trade at 22.11 in late trade. EcoRodovias SA (SA: ECOR3 ) declined 1.65% or 0.15 points to end at 8.94 and Raia Drogasil SA (SA: RADL3 ) shed 1.43% or 1.14 points to 78.66.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 293 to 163 and 32 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.84% to 27.29.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1323.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.10% or 0.68 to hit $61.36 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.59% or 0.71 to trade at $119.62 .

USD/BRL was up 0.08% to 3.2575, while EUR/BRL rose 0.32% to 4.0186.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 89.88.
