Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.51%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate , Consumption and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.51% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were CPFL Energia SA (SA: CPFE3 ), which rose 4.06% or 0.82 points to trade at 21.00 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA: RENT3 ) added 3.16% or 0.72 points to end at 23.50 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA: CSNA3 ) was up 2.57% or 0.27 points to 10.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cielo SA (SA: CIEL3 ), which lost 1.45% or 0.35 points to trade at 23.75 in late trade. Telefonica Brasil SA (SA: VIVT4 ) declined 1.03% or 0.52 points to end at 49.84 and Gerdau SA Pref (SA: GGBR4 ) shed 1.00% or 0.15 points to 14.82.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 228 to 129 and 44 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.55% to 31.38 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.42% or 5.60 to $1340.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.79% or 0.51 to hit $64.81 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.27% or 0.33 to trade at $122.25 .
USD/BRL was up 0.32% to 3.2160, while EUR/BRL rose 0.95% to 3.9449.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 90.13.
