Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.51%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumption , Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.51%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Lojas Renner SA (SA: LREN3 ), which rose 4.31% or 1.55 points to trade at 37.50 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA: ECOR3 ) added 4.22% or 0.51 points to end at 12.60 and Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA: PCAR4 ) was up 3.97% or 3.05 points to 79.90 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Fibria Celulose SA (SA: FIBR3 ), which lost 4.06% or 2.11 points to trade at 49.82 in late trade. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA: USIM5 ) declined 2.91% or 0.29 points to end at 9.66 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB5 ) shed 2.28% or 0.46 points to 19.71.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 229 to 139 and 35 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.22% to 27.43.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.21% or 2.66 to $1283.54 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.29% or 0.15 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.10% or 0.13 to trade at $124.17 .

USD/BRL was up 0.01% to 3.1713, while EUR/BRL rose 0.03% to 3.7397.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.30.
