Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.24%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Industrials and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA: CSAN3 ), which rose 4.90% or 1.94 points to trade at 41.55 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB3 ) added 4.40% or 1.86 points to end at 44.16 and B2W Cia Digital (SA: BTOW3 ) was up 3.59% or 1.66 points to 47.91 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Log Commercial Properties e Participacoes SA (SA: LOGG3 ), which lost 3.52% or 0.70 points to trade at 19.20 in late trade. Cielo SA (SA: CIEL3 ) declined 2.48% or 0.26 points to end at 10.24 and Fleury SA (SA: FLRY3 ) shed 2.35% or 0.51 points to 21.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 224 to 200 and 30 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.59% to 30.99.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.35% or 4.45 to $1292.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.58% or 0.30 to hit $52.41 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.38% or 1.40 to trade at $102.70 .
USD/BRL was up 0.54% to 3.7366, while EUR/BRL rose 0.40% to 4.2580.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.708.
