Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.11%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumption , Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.11%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA: CMIG4 ), which rose 2.69% or 0.19 points to trade at 7.25 at the close. Vale SA (SA: VALE3 ) added 2.37% or 0.84 points to end at 36.25 and Lojas Renner SA (SA: LREN3 ) was up 1.86% or 0.64 points to 34.97 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB3 ), which lost 3.14% or 0.60 points to trade at 18.53 in late trade. Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA: CSNA3 ) declined 2.75% or 0.22 points to end at 7.78 and Qualicorp SA (SA: QUAL3 ) shed 2.46% or 0.81 points to 32.05.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 223 to 221 and 31 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.29% to 33.70.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.40 to $1293.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.34% or 0.20 to hit $57.91 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.28% or 1.64 to trade at $129.67 .

USD/BRL was down 0.45% to 3.2131, while EUR/BRL fell 0.90% to 3.8056.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 93.15.
