Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Bovespa Electrical Energy, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.05% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Prio SA (BVMF:PRIO3), which rose 8.07% or 2.72 points to trade at 36.43 at the close. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) added 4.90% or 0.70 points to end at 14.99 and Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3) was up 3.70% or 0.01 points to 0.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3), which fell 7.80% or 0.33 points to trade at 3.90 in late trade. Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) declined 4.77% or 1.15 points to end at 22.97 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) down 4.09% or 0.19 points to 4.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 580 to 391 and 41 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.07% to 30.10.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.74% or 23.89 to $3,246.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.28% or 0.76 to hit $58.48 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.53% or 2.05 to trade at $382.60 .
USD/BRL was down 0.37% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL fell 0.32% to 6.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 99.85.
