Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.03%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Electric Power , Financials and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Qualicorp SA (SA: QUAL3 ), which rose 4.10% or 0.63 points to trade at 15.99 at the close. Bradespar SA (SA: BRAP4 ) added 3.59% or 1.09 points to end at 31.44 and Cielo SA (SA: CIEL3 ) was up 2.69% or 0.38 points to 14.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fleury SA (SA: FLRY3 ), which lost 4.90% or 1.25 points to trade at 24.24 in late trade. Smiles Fidelidade SA (SA: SMLS3 ) declined 4.27% or 2.09 points to end at 46.80 and Braskem SA (SA: BRKM5 ) shed 3.02% or 1.86 points to 59.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 250 to 192 and 38 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.04% to 52.87 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1201.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.23 to hit $67.52 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.07% or 1.10 to trade at $101.40 .
USD/BRL was up 0.05% to 4.0867, while EUR/BRL rose 0.07% to 4.7391.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 95.12.
