Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.14% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which rose 2.70% or 2.83 points to trade at 107.38 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 0.78% or 0.21 points to end at 27.76 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.07% or 0.04 points to 48.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 2.19% or 0.46 points to trade at 20.34 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 2.06% or 1.27 points to end at 60.42 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 1.61% or 0.535 points to 32.740.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 54 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.32% or 16.75 to $1289.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.70% or 0.33 to hit $46.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.43 to trade at $48.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.69% to 1.1056, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.9035.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 97.76.
