Belgium shares lower at close of trade; BEL 20 down 1.02%
Credit: © Reuters. – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology , Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.02% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (BR: UMI ), which rose 2.59% or 1.02 points to trade at 40.39 at the close. Solvay SA (BR: SOLB ) added 1.82% or 1.78 points to end at 99.38 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR: GBLB ) was up 1.76% or 1.38 points to 79.84 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR: ABI ), which lost 10.38% or 7.51 points to trade at 64.85 in late trade. Argen-X (BR: ARGX ) declined 6.16% or 4.30 points to end at 65.50 and Galapagos NV (AS: GLPG ) shed 4.40% or 3.960 points to 86.040.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 59 to 58 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.37% or 4.60 to $1232.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.51% or 0.34 to hit $67.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.25 to trade at $76.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1369, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.8869.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 96.41.
