Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the BEL Consumer Services Net Return, BEL Financials Net Return and BEL Health Care Net Return sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 2.32% or 0.89 points to trade at 39.32 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) added 1.81% or 0.12 points to end at 6.74 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 1.18% or 0.75 points to 64.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC), which fell 1.33% or 0.92 points to trade at 68.46 in late trade. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) declined 1.21% or 2.10 points to end at 171.20 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) down 0.93% or 0.56 points to 59.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 49 to 45 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
Shares in Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) rose to all time highs; up 2.32% or 0.89 to 39.32.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 5.10 to $2,684.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $70.42 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $74.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 103.27.
